Good Day Friends,
Have you had lunch at JoLo Winery & Vineyards or taken in the view from Pilot Mountain? A day trip has been scheduled on August 15 by Travelers Interest Group Chair Mickey Key for 20 NFC members. Travelers will meet at 8:45 am at the Stonecrest Shopping Center in the parking lot farthest from the movie theater. Five volunteers are needed to drive, thus allowing for four individuals per vehicle to car pool with each driver. People will share the gas expenses of their car pool vehicle. Luncheon at JoLo is reserved for 11:00 am. After eating, there will be a drive to the top of Pilot Mountain for the scenic view OR if a car pool group wants to go to Mount Airy for ice cream and enjoy the tourist town on which Mayberry of The Andy Griffith Show was based, the choice is available. We would love to have you join us on August 22 for a unique dining experience at Mizu in the Hyatt Centric Hotel in South Park. After parking your car across from the hotel, please enter the hotel and take the elevator to the ninth floor. The NFC luncheon volunteers will meet you in the lovely lounge area with your name tags. You will mingle with friends old and new in the lounge and hear some fun facts. about the Queen City from our speaker. We will then move into the beautiful dining area for our brunch. A few spots remain so don't delay, sign up today. Deadline for reservations is August 15 at noon.
Crafty Creations had to change the August 28 event from the original morning timeframe to the afternoon from 2 pm to 4 pm. There is still a spot as of this writing for this session on creating greeting cards.
Are you dreaming of Charleston crab cakes or steak gaufrette? Or maybe it's the chocolate dipped macaroons that draw your attention? Are your feet itching to dance Under the Harvest Moon? Or is having loads of fun with friends old and new your special joy? Then, please open to the NFC website November calendar and register for the fall social to be held on November 2 at the beautiful Olde Providence Racquet Club beginning at 6:00 pm. Hoping to see many of you there!
Please help out our interest group chairs by canceling your spot on the waitlist ASAP if you are no longer able to attend an event so another member may take your space. Also, it is imperative that you register your spouse for events that welcome couples. Suddenly being confronted with extra attendees that were not registered is a burden for your hostess. If you are unsure how to cancel from the waitlist of if you need help registering your spouse, please contact Webmaster Jeanne Deiger at 704-607-3105 or Deiger_j@bellsouth.net .
