Good Day Friends,
All of us are reeling from the news coming out of the western part of the state - roads closed and washed away, no cellular, water, power, and tales of many people who are completely stranded. It's hard to process that kind of devastation. The impact on such a beautiful region will be long lasting. - Dining with Divas Interest Group Chair Chris Green is holding an informational meeting with the purpose of growing more Diva groups on October 10, at 1:00 pm. Jean Rottmann has volunteered to host the meeting at her home (1174 Shelly Woods Drive, Fort Mill, SC). Dining with Divas meets the first Friday of each month and consists of members who meet in private homes on a rotating basis to enjoy lunch prepared by their group. Not only are we looking to grow more Diva groups, but also substitutes are needed to fill in when a Diva member is unable to attend her group. Members are welcome to attend this meeting to learn more details about how the Diva groups operate. It's a great way for members to bond and grow lasting friendships. - Community Volunteers Co-Chairs Susan Brandenburg and Lisa Byrne need a few members interested in helping to make Christmas Stockings for Operation Joy, an activity sponsored by Go Jen Go. They plan to hold a work session on October 10, at 12:30 pm at the home of Susan Brandenburg. Sewing machines are needed and a few people to cut material thus bring a pair of sewing scissors and your sewing machine to the meeting. If anyone has leftover Christmas fabric, it may be of use. Susan or Lisa will pick it up from you if you can't make the meeting. Please text, call or email Susan to let her know if you wish to come at 704-408-0839 or susanb0424@gmail.com.
- Crafty Creations Co-Chair Andrea Woods has one spot available for the jewelry-making workshop being held October 2 from 10 am to Noon. Check the calendar for details and to register.
- Other interest group activities with open spots this week include "In the Know - Healing Touch" on October 1 at 10:00 am, Scrabble on October 1 at 1:30 pm, and Mexican Train 1 on October 2 at 12:30 pm. Check the online calendar for details and registration.
