Good Day, Friends,
In the coming weeks, New Friends will be collecting donations through our interest group events for our Community Volunteers' project, Go Jen Go's "Operation Joy." In order for you to better understand who we are supporting with this effort, please read the profiles below of each of the three NFC-sponsored families that will be receiving Christmas gifts from us.
Salimah is a breast cancer survivor. She is currently pregnant with her second daughter. During the pregnancy, her breast cancer returned. Her recent surgery removed the tumor, and she had clean margins. Currently cancer-free, she will have treatment to complete after she delivers in October.
Amanda is a mom of two young boys. Due to Stage III breast cancer, she is unable to work due to treatments. Her mother moved in to help. She is going through chemotherapy, surgery, and additional adjuvant therapy based on her responses to treatment.
Alexandrea, a mom to 3 young children, is unable to work due to treatments and doctor's appointments. She receives food stamps. Friends and family are helping as best they can with groceries and childcare. She is searching to find a job that she can work remotely.
Our goal is to provide 36 gifts for the three women with cancer diagnoses, 6 children, 1 husband, 1 grandmother, and one baby being born this month. In addition, each child is to get a stocking, and each mom is to get a bag of comfort items from our club. Please count your blessings and give generously. Our November luncheon speakers will be from Go Jen Go. Let's have a strong attendance to support this worthy organization.
