Good Day, Friends,

Update on Salisbury Trip:
The Salisbury trip that Travelers Chair Mickey Key is offering on Monday, March 10 is a GO! We have 18 members signed up. Mickey and I are putting in the money to hold 2 more spots so we can rent the trolley. Although registration is closed on the website, we would still love 2 more members to sign up for this great opportunity by contacting Mickey at 704-905-8973 or email: mickeygkey@gmail.com
Trip details:
- Meet at 9:00 am at the Metro Diner parking lot, 10412 E Independence Blvd in Matthews Festival Shopping Center to carpool to Salisbury
- After an approximately one-hour drive arrive at Waterworks Visual Art Center at 123 E Liberty St to view a free exhibit  of renown European artists including over 40 paintings and sculptures of European Modern Masters: Monet, Picasso, Kandinsky, and de Kooning.
- Lunch at "Recipe"  at 11:30 am.
- Board a trolley at 1:30 pm for one-hour tour of historic Salisbury
The price per person is $16 to cover the cost of trolley rental. The deadline for cancelations has passed, thus there will be no refunds.

The Crafty Creations February 19th session from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on glass fusion has 2 spots left to fill. Make a beautiful piece of art plus enjoy tea & scones. The location is the Uptown Tea Shop, 310 E. South Main Street, Waxhaw.

The In the Know - Planning for Retirement session at the South County Regional Library at 5801 Rea Road also can accommodate more registrants. It is slated for February 12 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Contact Marie Shea for  details at 704-408-7303 or marieshea1@yahoo.com

There are only seven spots remaining for our February 27 luncheon at Bonefish. Don't miss out on the fun! Register today!

A gentle reminder to the volunteers preparing meals for meal train, when dropping off meals, it's important to respect the recipient's recovery process and be mindful that they likely don't feel up to socializing. Please do not stay longer than 10 minutes unless specifically invited to stay longer.

Save the date of Sunday, April 6, from 1:00 - 3:00 pm, for a hilarious Pop-Up Event - the Funny Bus Charlotte Comedy Tour. Tickets will be $35 per person. Join a local comedian for 90 minutes of laughter as you tour through the streets of CLT viewing historic neighborhoods in a covered bus. This is a PG-13 rated tour, so user-friendly for all. The event will be open to NFC members, spouses, or significant others. Watch for more specifics about registration as this event rolls out soon.

Nominating Committee Chair Lora Castello asks that members interested in taking on leadership responsibilities in New Friends of Carolina's next membership year, please contact her at 251-716-8973 OR loracastello@gmail.com by February 25.
