Good Day, Friends,
An early Day Light Savings Time morning to you! Did everyone remember to spring ahead? The weekly message is a day early because those of us going on the Salisbury trip Monday have a few things to remember. We are meeting at 9:00 am to carpool from the
Metro Diner (10412 E Independence Blvd. Matthews Festival Shopping Center) for our one hour drive to Salisbury, NC. Around 10:00 am we will regroup at the Waterworks Visual Arts Center (123 E. Liberty ST, Salisbury, NC 28144) to view a free special exhibit of modern European artists including Monet, Picasso, de Kooning and Kandinsky. Afterwards, we will walk to eat lunch at Recipe Restaurant, which offers sandwiches, Italian main courses, salads, & pizza in the range of $10-20 per person. Lastly, we will take an hour long Historical Trolley Tour of Salisbury. Depending on your carpool group's decision, you may want to stay after and shop.
There are spaces yet to be filled in Book Swappers, Samba, Mexican Train 2, and Sip & Stitch this week.
April calendar and newsletter updates are due March 15. Please be prompt in getting your information updated so our busy volunteer newsletter editor, calendar manager and webmaster do not have to spend precious time trying to track you down to get info.
There are a few spots available for our exciting luncheon at OMB (Olde Mecklenburg Brewery) on March 27. Don't delay! Please register today. Registration ends Thursday, March 20.
Have you ever wanted to walk the fashion runway as a model? Here's your chance to do just that at our April 30th luncheon with Chico's at Ballantyne Country Club. The first five lucky ladies who respond to the VP of Luncheons, Monica Taft, by noon on Thursday, March 13th will be selected. Please contact Monica by email only at mtaft@twc.com with your full name, phone contact and approximate sizing info for both tops and bottoms. (This preliminary information is needed for Chico's)
Please note the April 30th luncheon is on Wednesday and will begin at 10:00 am for social time followed by the fashion show beginning promptly at 10:30 am. Models will be required to arrive at 9:30 am.
Mah Jongg is returning! Audrey Herman will chair the interest group which will meet at the Whole Foods at Waverly come May. More details will be forthcoming.
